GOODRIDE – QUALITY MARK

Goodride tyres first appeared as a brand in 1958. Over the years, the company has continuously expanded its product range, developing and manufacturing Goodride tyres for a growing range of vehicles. Goodride tyres are produced for radial trucks, passenger cars, motorcycles, industrial equipment vehicles and even bicycles.

Because of the company’s wide product range and high production volumes, any of us is likely to occasionally find ourselves in a vehicle fitted with these Goodride tyres. In total, the company’s product list includes more than 2000 products. As we can see, the company operates on a wide spectrum and currently has a total production capacity of 8 million Goodride radial tyres and 2.5 million metal cord tyres (an outdated but still used design). In addition, Goodride produces 60 million bicycle tyres and 2 million metres of rubber tubes. All Goodride products have been awarded international quality certificates. These include DOT certificates, ECE certificates and INMETRO.

What’s more, the quality of Goodride tyres is confirmed by the international ISO/TS16949 certificate. The wide product range and internationally recognised quality are the reasons why, in many cases, MMK Tyre Centre specialists would recommend Goodride tyres as a reliable companion suitable for Latvian roads.

Goodride tyre customers appreciate the company’s extensive experience and trust in its ability to produce excellent quality products. Industry professionals and vehicle manufacturers trust Goodride tyres and consider the Goodride brand as a mark of quality. Many car and bike manufacturers around the world choose Goodride tyres as the standard tyre for their products at the point of sale because they want the reputation of Goodride tyres to add to the appeal and value of their product.

GOODRIDE SUMMER TYRES

The company produces a large number of summer tyres. Some of them are RP28; SA37; SU318; SP06. The tread of summer tyres is characterised by an asymmetrical pattern. It is this design that guarantees high grip and stability on wet roads, especially at high speeds. A wider contact patch ensures stability on the road. This is particularly important if you spend a lot of time on long journeys every day. The deep water grooves and recesses in the tread of Goodride tyres ensure fast water drainage. The tyre’s side shoulder is designed to be more robust, so the car is stable whatever the speed. The original and innovative tread pattern helps protect the car from aquaplaning. Asymmetrically arranged Goodride tread blocks reduce noise when moving. MMK Tyre Service recommends Goodride summer tyres to any customer who values these product design aspects and whose driving habits demand high-quality, reliable tyres.

Depending on the model and design, Goodride tyres are classified according to comfort and wear resistance. For urban roads and motorways, there are some models, and for off-road, others. Such a clear tyre distribution helps you choose the best tyre for your car. It should be noted that the basic rule for the correct use of any type of tyre is to always maintain the optimum pressure. Too low or too high a pressure contributes to rapid tyre wear, poor manoeuvrability and instability on the road.

GOODRIDE ALL-SEASON TYRES OR M+S

This Goodride tyre section is represented by the SL366, SL369, SW602 and others. These tyres have coarse blocks and wide tubes, ideal for both summer and winter. The denser tread structure resists punctures, cuts and provides maximum stability of movement. Widely spaced tread blocks ensure good off-road handling in winter and summer. Sturdy sidewalls guarantee stability and reliability. Some all-season tyres have a metal cord construction, so they have a strong centre section, a dense tread and a rubber compound that resists wear to ensure long life, so they can be used not only on private cars but also on commercial vehicles.

In the Latvian environment, there are several months of the year when consumers are unsure about the choice between winter and summer tyres. In autumn it is not clear when it is wise to change from summer to winter tyres, while in spring it is not clear when the frosts will end and whether it is the right time to change from winter to summer tyres. MMK Tyre Service experts recommend all-season Goodride tyres as a good alternative to changing tyres at the end of the season. Although there is a perception that all-season tyres are less safe in winter and lose quality more quickly in summer, Goodride all-season tyres are best suited to both seasons and will be a good fit for consumers in everyday use in both winter and summer without compromising on safety and tyre sustainability.

GOODRIDE WINTER TYRES

Goodride winter tyres are characterised by asymmetric blocks consisting of zigzag drainage grooves. This design gives Goodride tyres excellent grip and good braking performance on slippery or snowy roads. A specially developed tread block technology reduces noise during driving. Some winter tyres have a V-tread for noise reduction and stability when driving or cornering. Goodride winter tyres are made from special rubber that won’t freeze in low temperatures.

What are the customer reviews of Goodride tyres?

Goodride, among Asian tyre manufacturers, is now well known in countries around the world. Several of their products are designed specifically for the Scandinavian climate zone, which also includes the Baltic States. The manufacturer offers a wide range of summer, winter and all-season tyres. Interestingly, Goodride tyres are produced with identical models under another name known in Latvia as Westlake. This is a practice followed by several tyre manufacturers. Studies have shown that a tyre that sold well in India, for example, does not do well in Europe under the same name. Goodride tyres proudly represent the budget segment because, whatever class it belongs to, it always strives for perfection.

What are the main factors that encourage drivers to choose Goodride tyres and to buy them again later?

To get the answers to these questions, we looked at drivers’ feedback on various Latvian forums and on the world’s best-known tyre test and review portal
TYREREVIEWS, as well as comparing different tyre tests conducted both in and outside Latvia. These are the main advantages of GOODRIDE tyres:

  1. Suitable for Latvia’s temperate climate (suitable for both summer and winter conditions),
  2. high construction quality, relatively high impact resistance,
  3. fuel economy, lower rolling resistance than average,
  4. medium soft rubber compound,
  5. good handling in all weather conditions, including snow and ice,
  6. safe driving even in summer conditions (not too soft rubber compound),
  7. safe tyres in side slides,
  8. relatively short braking distances,
  9. quiet tyres.

The most popular Goodride summer models at MMK Tyre Centres are the Goodride RP28 and Goodride SA37. Why do our customers choose these models? We have to say that the experience of MMK Tyre Centres shows that Goodride tyres are chosen mainly because of their attractive price. However, the summer models are quite sporty looking and the tread design is also sporty. This tyre is relatively often chosen by road racers who do not intend to drive on these tyres for more than one season. One reason for this could be the tyre’s wear resistance, as the latest models are designed as high-performance tyres.

The most popular winter models in Latvia are the Goodride SW618 and Goodride SW608 – high quality, budget winter tyres, several of the Goodride winter models are based on the Scandinavian soft compound tyre. The SW618 model is one of them, an inexpensive winter tyre for optimum performance that can also be used as an all-season tyre. The SW608 is in principle the most popular GOODRIDE winter model. A quality tyre, partly due to the involvement of North American tyre experts in the design of this model.

Recommended by MMK Serviss as a good budget tyre, proven in Latvian conditions, giving optimum performance for the price.
