Kumho tyre history

Kumho started operations immediately after World War II. It was founded by Park In Jong, whose third son Park Sam Koo still runs the company today. In its early days, the company produced 20 tyres a day and owned just two Ford cars. But unexpectedly, just four years later, the company ceased operations with the outbreak of war. But the company did not give up, resuming operations in 1960 with the first “the Flintstones” series on the television airwaves, becoming the largest tyre manufacturer in Korea at the time. Now, the company produces over 68 million tyres a year and ranks 2nd in the number of tyres produced in Korea, behind only Hankook.

Company philosophy

The success of Kumho tyres is based on the principles ingrained in the company by its founder. With the Park dynasty at the helm, these principles are still firmly adhered to today. One example is that the brand’s product range should always include tyres for all types of transport and in all sizes, from tyres for exotic sports cars to huge bus tyres and even aircraft tyres. Kumho tyres have become very popular among drivers thanks to their high quality, which is recognised worldwide by numerous quality certificates.
