THE BIRTH AND 10 YEARS OF CORDIANT TYRES.

2005. in 2010, SIBUR introduced the new Cordiant brand, which, contrary to previous practice, produces tyres exclusively for passenger cars. The debut models of Cordiant tyres were the summer Cordiant SPORT and the winter Cordiant POLAR. When producing Cordiant tyres for the local market, the company has to take into account the wide variations in climate and road surface in Russia, which makes the products as versatile and high quality as possible for different conditions. At the end of the same year, the company’s production reached 10 million Cordiant tyres. A year later, the company underwent a reorganisation which led to its current name, SIBUR – Russian Tyres.

In 2007, the company launched a modernisation plan. As part of this programme, state-of-the-art production equipment was purchased and installed. This allows the company to both produce higher quality summer and winter Cordiant tyres and to streamline its production, while also focusing resources on developing new products and improving the quality of existing products. The first long-term results were the development of two new Cordiant tyre models (Off-Road and Business), as well as a significant expansion of the production range, which since 2010 has more than 125 different sizes. In this way, SIBUR is able to offer products for a wide range of passenger cars, thus reaching many consumers.

INDEPENDENT PRODUCTION COMPANY

2011. in 2010, the Cordiant brand became a fully-fledged manufacturing company thanks to the acquisition of key assets from Continental AG’s Matador-Omskshina joint venture. This led to the creation of Cordiant OJSC in spring 2012, which included the production facilities of SIBUR Holding in Yaroslavl, Volzhsky and Omsk. Cordiant became an independent manufacturing company focused on making Cordiant tyres a premium product.

Today, Cordiant tyres are offered in a very wide range of more than 400 tyre models used in a variety of industries, from automotive to aerospace. The wide production range allows Cordiant to incorporate lessons learned from many products into the development of its tyres. This extensive experience is used to refine the manufacturing process and select the most suitable and proven raw materials to create high quality Cordiant tyres. In addition to the production facilities, the company has a modern scientific base based on a tyre test centre in Yaroslavl. It is equipped with the latest equipment and a test area suitable for testing all tyres, from cars to aircraft.
