Goddyear tyres – proven value

Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company is an American multinational tyre manufacturer headquartered in Akron, Ohio. Goodyear manufactures tyres for passenger cars, aviation, trucks, military and police vehicles, motorcycles, SUVs, racing cars and heavy off-road vehicles. As of 2017, Goodyear is one of the four largest tyre manufacturers along with Bridgestone (Japan), Michelin (France) and Continental (Germany).

The company was founded in 1898 by Frank Seiberling and named after Charles Goodyear (1800-1860), the American inventor of vulcanised rubber. The first Goodyear tyres became popular because they were easy to remove and required little maintenance.

Goodyear tyres – quality and a modern approach

Goodyear is one of the world’s largest tyre companies. It employs around 72,000 people and manufactures its products in 55 plants in 23 countries. Two innovation centres in Akron, Ohio, and Kolmar-Berg, Luxembourg, strive to develop state-of-the-art products and services that set the technology and performance standards for the industry.

Goodyear tyres and related products are used in all major industries and vehicles such as trucks, buses, aircraft, motorcycles, earthmoving and mining equipment, agricultural implements and industrial machinery.

Goodyear produces a wide variety of tyres, including winter tyres, all-season tyres, performance and ultra-high performance tyres, light truck tyres and all-terrain tyres.

The company, which created all-season tyres in the 1970s, has a clear focus on innovation and new products. All Goodyear tyres are rigorously tested to ensure maximum performance and reliability. Reliability, control and comfort are priorities for Goodyear, which wants to keep your family safe in all road conditions.

Some of their specialised tyres are used by police forces and, as a technology leader, the company has introduced not only fuel-efficient models but also tyres with low rolling resistance.
