Pilot Sport 4 equipment
Michelin Pilot Sport 4 summer tyres are equipped with Dynamic Response Technology, a whole suite of technical solutions designed to provide perfect handling and extremely quick steering response.
The tyre is constructed using a “hybrid” carcass, with a multi-layer construction made of different materials – aramid and nylon fibres. This gives the tyre increased resistance to dynamic deformation, as well as further improving manoeuvrability and increasing sustainability.
The tread design is such that the size and shape of the contact patch is not altered by multi-directional acceleration forces. As a result, the stability of the grip characteristics is ensured, with a positive effect on handling even at high driving speeds.
Resistance to aquaplaning
Michelin Pilot Sport 4 tread rubber compound adds functional elastomers. These polymer compounds make the tread more flexible, which, combined with the increased silica content, gives the tyre excellent grip on wet asphalt. In addition, a highly developed drainage channel system prevents aquaplaning even at high speeds.
