Goodride all-season tyres

All-season tyres are made for countries with variable and average weather conditions, where winters are not as cold as Antarctica and summers are not as hot as the desert. This is also the case in Latvia, which is why all-season tyres are a popular choice for many drivers who either don’t have the time or the inclination to change their tyres twice a year to adapt to the next season.

MMK Tyre Service would like to introduce you to Goodride all-season tyres. These tyres combine the best features of Goodride winter and summer tyres to create a product suitable for the changing Latvian weather conditions.

M+S (Mud + Snow), also known as AllSeasons or All weather. These tyres are designed for use all year round.

Remember that all-season tyres do not include all the positive features of seasonal tyres. Such tyres have their pros and cons. They are usually chosen by motorists who use their cars relatively little, mainly for short journeys on good quality roads. It should be noted that the M+S designation does not necessarily mean that the tyres are suitable for Latvian climatic conditions.

This is a case where we recommend that customers rely on the expertise of professionals. MMK Riepu Serviss experts do not recommend driving with all-season tyres in winter conditions. The choice of all-season tyre may vary from car to car and depends on the individual driving habits of each driver.

All-season tyres are designed for use in climate zones where winter temperatures are around 0 °C – more so in Western and Central Europe. Although we are seeing warmer winters in Latvia, this type of tyre will be suitable mainly for drivers who make relatively few short journeys.

If you make relatively short journeys within the city on a daily basis, for example from your apartment to the office, then the Goodride all-season tyre is the right choice for you. They won’t compromise comfort and safety on the road. However, if you have to travel on relatively poorly surfaced roads on a daily basis, especially in winter, the all-season tyre option will not provide the same level of safety as winter tyres.

Although all-season tyres are allowed all year round in Latvia, MMK Riepu Serviss experts do not recommend them for motorists who drive their cars regularly and frequently. All-season tyres could be a great alternative for car owners who use their car infrequently, for example only at weekends to go visiting or shopping, choosing other transport on winter days when it snows heavily or the roads are heavily icy.

They are suitable for mild climates in winter when temperatures are around 0 °C, or for driving in town and on roads that are well maintained and treated with special materials.

A good choice for customers who do not use their car or use it little during the winter months. In early spring and late autumn, these tyres can be even more reliable than summer tyres.

These tyres will have a harder compound than winter tyres and the tread will be designed to achieve the optimum combination of different characteristics. It should be noted that these tyres have a lower performance on snow and ice than winter tyres.

All-season tyres should not forget the classic tyre defects caused by wear or improper storage. Many motorists like to think that all-season tyres are universal and do not need to be checked at the start of each season. However, the tread depth of all tyres should be checked at the beginning of each season. Whether you have all-season or all-season tyres, the permitted tread depth does not change between the winter and summer seasons. At the start of the season, you should make sure that your tyres have enough tread depth to last the whole season.
