TheKumho WinterCraft ice WS51 winter tire model features an aggressive, deep directional tread pattern. This tread design was chosen to significantly improve tire performance even in deep snow.

The massive V-shaped tread blocks are equipped with several thousand tiny notches, or sipes. Acting much like studs, their sharp edges bite into ice and packed snow, creating a firm grip on slippery surfaces. 

As is well known, a flexible and soft tire provides much better traction on the road, especially in winter driving conditions. The tire’s flexibility is achieved by enriching its rubber compound with a range of elastomers.
