Hankook Winter i*pike RS W419

The Hankook W419 i* Pike RS is one of the latest products that the renowned Korean tyre manufacturer has prepared for car enthusiasts. This tyre is the improved continuation of the old W409 model. Like its predecessor, the W419 is designed for the harsh winter conditions of Northern Europe and Scandinavia, which means it’s perfectly suited to tackle the Latvian climate. The manufacturers guessed something was up and running at the start of sales, so the model is offered in dozens of sizes, allowing it to be used on most modern cars.

Main features of the Hankook W419 i Pike RS

– optimised V-shaped symmetrical tread pattern improves grip and handling in all types of winter conditions;
– new rubber compound for improved low temperature flexibility;
– Carefully calculated block layout and shape for a higher level of comfort.

More about Hankook Winter i*pike RS W419 tyres

Inheriting from the previous model, the new tyre has been given a tread with a V-shaped directional symmetrical pattern, which has, however, been significantly modified. The centre of the tread now features a more massive longitudinal rib, whose high stiffness ensures excellent directional stability and high performance in winter road conditions. Around the central rib on both sides, as before, are massive independent blocks, now at a sharper angle to the direction of movement. This has significantly improved traction in snow.

The shoulder areas of the Hankook W419 i Pike RS have two separate rows of tread blocks. Compared to its predecessor, these tread blocks have become considerably larger and the distance between them has increased significantly.

Another notable improvement is the new rubber compound with greater flexibility.

Thanks to the increased number of sipes, the contact area with the road surface has improved adhesive properties, which improves handling on slippery surfaces. In addition, the number of studs available on this tyre has been significantly increased to over 120 studs, depending on the tyre size, and the studs are positioned to give maximum grip on both ice and snow.
