When designing the Bridgestone Blizzak DM V2, the Japanese engineers have focused on improving the tyre’s grip on ice. A huge effort was made to achieve this goal, and for good reason! The efforts of countless engineers and scientists resulted in a unique tread pattern. It is the sweet tread pattern that combines almost all the optimum performance characteristics – excellent water and snow evacuation, short braking distances, excellent responsiveness and manoeuvrability even on the slipperiest road surfaces. In addition, the tread is complemented by densely spaced 3d sipes, oriented in 3 directions and significantly improving ice grip. The tread depth has been increased and the side blocks have been reinforced, which means longer tread life and better performance in the snow.

Bridgestone Blizzak DM V2 technology

Unnoticeable to the naked eye, a brand new technology has been added to the rubber compound used to make the tread – Multi Cell Compound. This rubber compound not only maintains flexibility over a wide temperature range, but also absorbs moisture that has made contact with the road. A dry contact patch means much shorter braking distances and better acceleration.
