Inheriting from the previous model, the new tyre was given a tread with a V-shaped directional symmetrical pattern, which has nevertheless been significantly modified. The centre of the tread now features a more massive longitudinal rib whose high rigidity ensures excellent directional stability and high performance in winter road conditions. Around the central rib on both sides, as before, are massive independent blocks, now at a sharper angle to the direction of movement. This has significantly improved traction in snow. Compared to its predecessor, these tread blocks have become considerably larger and the distance between them has increased significantly. Another notable improvement is the new rubber compound with greater flexibility. Thanks to the increased number of sipes, the contact area with the road surface has improved adhesive properties, which improves handling on slippery surfaces. In addition, the number of studs available on this tyre has been significantly increased to over 120 studs, depending on the tyre size, and the studs are positioned to give maximum grip on both ice and snow.
