Austone ATHENA SP-303 summer tyres feature an asymmetric tread design. Between the asymmetric tread strips, a highly developed drainage or water channel system can be found. This helps to efficiently drain water away from the tyres' contact surface, minimising the risk of aquaplaning even at high speeds.

A range of elastomers have been added to the tyre rubber compound, which not only improves grip but also helps reduce noise levels and fuel consumption. The tread strips incorporate a huge number of extra drainage channels to help grip on gravel roads.
