FRD78 equipment
Farroad FRD78 Scandinavian-type or soft compound winter tyres feature an improved asymmetric tread pattern. This design has been chosen to combine ride comfort and safety characteristics for both asphalt and harsh winter conditions.
The massive, asymmetrically spaced tread blocks are equipped with several thousand sipes or sipes. Acting like studs, they cut into ice and packed snow with sharp edges, forming a firm grip on slippery surfaces. In addition, this tyre model has sharp side knobs which significantly improve manoeuvrability in snow and on wet surfaces.
The tread has a highly developed drainage or water channel system at the base. It quickly and efficiently removes water, snow and slush from the tyre's contact patch, reducing the risk of aquaplaning and improving traction.
A high concentration of elastomers is added to the tyre rubber compound. These chemical compounds help the tyre to remain flexible at low temperatures. As you know, a flexible tyre grips the road much better and also wears more evenly.
