UltraGrip Ice SUV Gen-1 Specifications

The Goodyear UltraGrip Ice SUV Gen-1 winter tire model features a classic symmetrical tread pattern. This design was chosen because it offers superior performance in deep snow and slush. 

The massive, V-shaped tread blocks are equipped with Goodyear 3D technology sipes. Acting much like studs, their sharp edges bite into ice and packed snow, improving traction on these slippery surfaces. In addition, these sipes interlock with one another, increasing the contact area and improving anti-skid performance. 

The tread and its base are made from a rubber compound enhanced with ActiveGrip technology. Elastomers added to the rubber allow the tire to maintain its flexibility even at low temperatures. As is well known, a flexible tire provides much better traction on the road and wears more evenly.

Snowflake-shaped indicators are embedded in the tread blocks. These allow for precise determination of remaining tread depth, which is especially important during the winter months.
