X-Ice North 4 SUV features
The Michelin X-Ice North 4 SUV is equipped with a refined directional tread design that incorporates a minimum of 250 studs per tyre, depending on size. By comparison, a standard studded winter tyre typically has around 100 studs per tyre. Michelin engineers have worked on every detail of this tyre, from the shape and material of the studs to the way they interact with each other. The shape of the radiuses is inspired by the shape of the radiuses on winter rally cars, ensuring excellent grip on icy roads, even at high speeds. The rubber compound has also been improved, making the tyres even more flexible and wear-resistant. It also incorporates sipes which, in tandem with the studs, create traction on ice and help to wick water away from the tyres' contact surface.
