They open up on contact with the road, forming a traction cant and limiting the movement of the tread block, increasing stability and manoeuvrability. The central part of the tyre is covered with classic straight sipes, which also form gripping knobs but allow the tread block to move slightly. This makes the ride more comfortable and smoother without sacrificing efficiency.
