Hakkapeliitta 10 Features

The Nokian Hakkapeliitta 10 features the latest generation of technological solutions, which have enabled this studded tire model to outperform its predecessor in terms of acceleration, braking, maneuverability, and comfort. 

As usual, the Hakka 10 is equipped with an aggressive directional tread pattern for enhanced performance in snow. Two different types of studs are arranged within the massive tread blocks—a hybrid stud system. Aggressive studs are embedded in the tire’s shoulder area, helping to maintain traction during maneuvering. Meanwhile, the tire’s central zone features densely spaced heart-shaped studs, which significantly improve traction during braking and when pulling away. Compared to its predecessor, the Hakkapeliitta 10 has 16% more studs.

The stud bases utilize Eco Stud 10 technology, which simultaneously extends the tire’s service life and improves acoustic comfort. Small cushions are embedded in the stud bases of more than 200 tires, allowing the studs to absorb impact when in contact with a hard road surface, such as asphalt, thereby reducing noise levels and wear. In addition, a layer of sound-insulating material is embedded beneath the tread, which absorbs acoustic resonance generated inside the tire. While many drivers, despite knowing that driving on studded tires is safer in winter, choose not to use them to maintain acoustic comfort, with the Nokian Hakkapeliitta 10, there’s no need to worry about that.

Improvements have also been made to the tire’s rubber compound—it has been enriched with a range of natural materials, such as natural rubber and pine extract, making the Nokian Hakkapeliitta 10 more environmentally friendly, reducing rolling resistance, and improving traction even at extremely low temperatures.
