Description
The Horizon HW505 winter tyre is suitable for most modern cars and crossovers. This model stands out for its good performance and low price.
Key features of the Headway HW505
+Directional, symmetrical tread pattern improves performance on any winter road surface.
+V-shaped tread block pattern improves stability, manoeuvrability and shortens braking distances.
+Good grip on snow and ice thanks to several thousand sipes.
+Load evenly distributed over the large contact surface.
Horizon HW505 tread pattern
One of the key features of this model is the successful tread pattern. The tread blocks are arranged in a V-shape and this significantly improves the performance characteristics in snow and on ice. These tread blocks incorporate several thousand slats for extra grip on ice. The number of tread ribs has been reduced to four, which has allowed a significant improvement in stability and manoeuvrability, while the load is distributed more evenly over the contact patch, thus extending the tyre's service life.
Multifunctional drainage channel system
As the Horizon HW505 is a winter tyre, the drainage groove system has to fulfil several functions simultaneously. The drainage channels on this model not only do an excellent job of removing snow and water from the contact surface, they also create traction. The X-shaped drainage grooves in the shoulder area literally grip the snow, improving manoeuvrability and shortening braking distances. The Horizon HW505 's safety in winter weather and its compliance with countries with mandatory seasonal tyre changes is confirmed by a snowflake marking on a mountain background with three peaks (3PMSF).
