Arctic 2 Features
235/45 R18 Goodyear UltraGrip Arctic 2 studded tires feature a directional tread pattern. Compared to the previous model, the tread blocks are smaller and more numerous. This design is intended to improve the tire’s performance in deep snow and to more effectively clear snow and water from the tire’s contact patch.
Compared to the previous model, the Arctic 2 is also 9% quieter. This is achieved thanks to the unique arrangement of the tread blocks and the shape of the sipes.
Excellent traction on icy road surfaces is ensured by an improved rubber compound, newly shaped studs, and an increased number of studs. The new Goodyear UltraGrip Arctic 2 is equipped with up to 220 studs per tire. The size and shape of the stud socket have been modified, allowing the stud to slide into the tread when in contact with the asphalt, thereby reducing wear and lowering noise levels.
