Tread characteristics

The Winter Drive 2 tread pattern is created using 3d modelling techniques. The engineers have created one of the most aero and hydrodynamic designs, reminiscent of the Nokian Hakkapeliitta tread. The tread pattern features a range of technologies, one of which is CordiLowSnound. Thanks to this solution, the tyre muffles sound, making it much quieter. A number of elastomers have also been added to the rubber compound, allowing the tyre to remain flexible even at low temperatures. A flexible tyre grips the road surface much better. Another important factor in grip is how dry the tyre's contact patch is with the road. This model is armed with hydro-insulated drainage grooves which, in tandem with the 3D sipes, perfectly shed water and snow, drying the contact patch.

The Cordiant Winter Drive 2 's safety in winter weather and its compliance with countries with mandatory seasonal tyre changes is confirmed by a snowflake marking on a mountain background with three peaks (3PMSF).
