Kormoran SUV Summer
Description
The Kormoran SUV Summer is a summer tyre model for SUVs. This tyre model belongs to the Highway Terrain (H/T) category, which offers combined performance on tarmac, dirt and country roads. This tyre model is offered in almost all popular sizes, from R15 to R20.
Kormoran Summer SUV main features:
- reduced risk of aquaplaning, even at high speeds;
- increased grip area and improved traction thanks to new manufacturing materials;
- increased wear resistance and tyre life;
- improved fuel economy for lower fuel consumption.
Low risk of aquaplaning
4 wide and deep longitudinal water drainage grooves or drainage channels between the tread blocks. These grooves improve traction (starting/ manoeuvring/ braking) and allow water to be drained away with great efficiency. Additional channels in the sidewall of the tyre continue the drainage of water to the edges. Low risk of aquaplaning even at high speeds.
Tread pattern that increases grip area
If you look at the tyre in side projection, you can see the complexity of the tread pattern. The central part of the tread is almost flat and the edges of the tyre are significantly inclined with respect to the vertical axis. This type of design makes it possible to increase the grip area considerably by making it wider. This reduces the load on the tread face and is much less prone to wear. Increasing the contact area has a positive effect on grip and handling.
Excellent quality and improved durability
The tyre was designed with safety in mind (avoiding punctures or tears on kerbs). To do this, an additional cord made of synthetic materials has been added to the tyre structure to increase the tyre's strength and thus the tread's resistance to punctures and cuts. The sidewalls are protected by numerous "vertical ribs". These protect the tyre from mechanical damage caused by contact with kerbs and sharp road edges.
Fuel economy
As the tyre is made specifically for SUVs, the Kormoran SUV Summer is a relatively light tyre. The use of modern synthetic materials, without compromising the tyre's strength or performance, has resulted in a reduced tyre weight. Lighter tyres reduce the load, which reduces fuel consumption. The load-bearing elements of the tyre structure are also made from these materials. In addition, advanced cord winding techniques have been used, which are distinguished by a high density of filament arrangement. The weight of the tyre is significantly reduced, which has an impact on the warm-up time of the tyre. A lightweight tyre warms up more quickly on the move, resulting in additional fuel savings.
*Warning: Summer tyres may have M+S on the sidewall. This does not mean that they are M+S tyres and are not intended for use in Latvian winter conditions, but only in summer! For more details on this and other markings, please ask
