Several thousand wavy sipes are densely packed into the massive V-shaped tread blocks. Like studs, they cut into ice and packed snow with sharp edges for a firm grip.

The tread is made of a wear-resistant and flexible rubber alloy. The added elastomers ensure that the tread shape and grip are maintained over a wide temperature range.
