Firemax FM808 Scandinavian winter tyres feature a directional tread design or "needle". This design was chosen because it performs well on both wet asphalt and snow, improving manoeuvrability and reducing the risk of aquaplaning.

The massive V-shaped tread blocks are densely packed with thousands of tiny sipes or sipes. These act like studs, cutting sharply into packed snow and ice, significantly improving grip and safety.

A system of drains, or water channels, between the tread blocks effectively frees water and slush from the tyres' contact surface, reducing the risk of aquaplaning.

The model's safety in winter weather and its compliance with countries with mandatory seasonal tyre changes is confirmed by a snowflake marking on a mountain background with three peaks (3PMSF).
