Description
The Michelin X-Ice Snow is one of the best premium Scandinavian winter tyres, available in more than 120 sizes. It will fit 85% of today's cars. This model stands out for its excellent grip on snow and ice.
The model's safety in winter weather and its compliance with countries with compulsory seasonal tyre changes is confirmed by the snowflake marking on a mountain background with three peaks (3PMSF).
Michelin X-Ice Snow main features:
- One of the best soft compound tyre models in the world;
- Completely redesigned tread pattern with increased number of blocks and wide drainage grooves improves performance in wet and slushy conditions;
- Hybridtreadsystem for excellent grip on icy and snowy road surfaces;
- New Flex-Ice rubber compound technology increases grip on slippery surfaces and prevents tread wear during heating.
Key features of X-Ice Snow:
The main external difference between this model and its predecessor is the tread pattern design. While retaining the V-shaped layout, the tread blocks have been reduced in size, reshaped and increased in number. This has led to a significant improvement in directional stability as well as better braking on snowy surfaces.
Another major innovation is the use of two types of blades, or hybrid blades. Both 3D slats and U-shaped slats are used in the shoulder areas and improve handling and grip on slippery surfaces during manoeuvring. They are fully retained even when the tread is almost completely worn, allowing the tyres to maintain their excellent performance characteristics for much longer. And the 3D sipes significantly improve performance on ice, as well as drying the tyre's contact patch with the road.
Michelin X-Ice Snow tread is made from the latest generation Flex-Ice technology rubber compound. This has significantly increased the tyre's abrasion resistance and enabled it to retain both its flexibility even at extremely low temperatures and its shape under the influence of high temperatures.
