Alpin 5 Features
Michelin Alpin 5 all-season/winter(M+S) tires feature an improved directional tread pattern. This design was chosen to provide optimal traction and handling characteristics in both winter and wet conditions.
Between the V-shaped tread blocks lies a drainage system—or water drainage channels—developed using Michelin technology. It quickly and effectively clears water, snow, and slush from the contact patch with the road, reducing the risk of hydroplaning.
The tire’s rubber compound incorporates a range of leading Michelin technologies—Helio Compound 4 and Innovative Tread Compound. These chemical compounds allow the tire to maintain excellent wear resistance despite its relatively soft rubber compound. As is well known, a soft tire provides much better traction and wears more evenly.
