DLA01 equipment
The Doublestar DLA01 all-season/winter or m+s tyre model features an improved directional tread pattern. This design has been chosen for better grip in snow and because it has optimum water evacuation properties for reduced risk of aquaplaning.
The V-shaped tread blocks are "armed" with several thousand tiny slits or sipes. Acting like studs, they cut into compacted snow and ice with sharp edges, improving grip on slippery surfaces. In addition, the increased number of tread blocks provides more grip channels for improved traction and manoeuvrability in snow.
The tyres are made from a high-quality composite material. The chemical compounds added to it allow the tyres to remain flexible even at extremely low temperatures. As you know, a flexible tyre grips the road much better and also wears more evenly.
The V-shaped tread blocks have a highly developed drainage system between them. This quickly and efficiently clears the tyre's grip surface of precipitation, reducing the risk of aquaplaning in the warm season and shortening braking distances in winter.
