To make this winter tyre even more successful than its predecessor, South Korean engineers have come up with a whole range of innovative solutions, one of which is the unique radius arrangement. Taking a cue from a Finnish tyre manufacturer, the Marshal WinterCraft ice Wi31 has significantly increased the number of studs, reducing their size. 200 studs have been arranged in 20 rows, some of which are located in the central tread block row. This gives the tyre increased grip on ice, making it an excellent ally on icy or dirty country roads. The three-stage sipes make the tyre more manoeuvrable on both packed snow and urban asphalt. In tandem with the wide drainage grooves, they dry the contact patch for even closer grip.
