Hankook Winter i*cept RS2 W452
Description
The Hankook Winter i*cept RS2 W452 was developed with a stronger focus on the Central and Western European markets. It differs from the previous model with several features: a tread design created from scratch, a modified frame design and a rubber compound.
Main features of the Hankook Winter i*cept RS2 W452
- one-third more bonding edges in the tread compared to the previous model in this series;
- drainage grooves at the right angle to prevent aquaplaning;
- special '3D sipes' improve grip on icy surfaces;
- the three-dimensional design of the tread elements increases the stiffness of the blocks and at the same time improves handling.
Winter i*cept RS2 W452 Key features
Externally, the Hankook Winter i*cept RS2 differs from its predecessor with an increased number of grip edges. This is visible to the naked eye, as there are 28% more of them. The increase was achieved by reducing the size of the tread blocks. But at the same time, thanks to the optimised arrangement of the tread blocks, the contact patch area also increased by around 5%. The result of all these changes is significantly improved grip on wet asphalt and snow.
Aquaplaning-resistant tread
As before, the tyre is equipped with a V-tread. But now the number of drainage grooves has been significantly increased and they are positioned at a much sharper angle, speeding up the water drainage process. In addition, so-called "3D claws" have been placed on the walls of the channels. The miniature elements improve traction on icy surfaces.
3D slats
This "Three Dimensional" design is characterised by a large number of slats. The protrusions on their walls, located in all three planes, create countless points of adhesion when in contact with the road surface. This not only improves grip on slippery surfaces but also improves handling.
TheHankook Winter i*cept RS2 W452 's safety in winter weather and its compliance with countries with mandatory seasonal tyre changes is confirmed by the snowflake marking on a mountain background with three peaks (3PMSF).
