Grip on ice is further enhanced by thousands of sipes that are densely embedded in the tread blocks and, upon contact with the road, open up to create multiple additional gripping edges. This tire model features a specially developed rubber compound adapted for use in extremely low temperatures. Sound-dampening agents have also been added to the rubber compound, making the ride quiet and comfortable. Significant improvements have also been made to the drainage system.
