215/70R15 Toyo Open Country A/T plus 98T
TheToyo Open Country A/T Plus all-terrain tyre was developed with the European tyre market in mind. No wonder that the habits and preferences of European drivers were taken into particular consideration during the development process. Unlike many other off-road tyre models, the Toyo Open Country A/T Plus is capable of demonstrating good handling on tarmac or any other unpaved surface. Typically, this type of tyre has problems on tarmac.

Description
TheToyo Open Country A/T Plus all-terrain tyre was developed with the European tyre market in mind. No wonder that the habits and preferences of European drivers were taken into particular consideration during the development process. Unlike many other off-road tyre models, the Toyo Open Country A/T Plus is capable of demonstrating good handling on tarmac or any other unpaved surface. Typically, this type of tyre has problems on tarmac.
Key features of the Toyo Open Country A/T Plus
+ Thanks to its symmetrical tread design, which is effective on any type of road surface, the tyre has a versatile application;
+ The tread, divided into zones according to their functionality, improves the tyre's driving performance regardless of the road surface and without damaging each other;
+ the tyre skeleton, reinforced with additional metal and nylon cords, ensures the tyre's reliability in off-road conditions.
Wide applicability
The versatility of this tyre is largely due to its symmetrical tread design. Like several other Toyo passenger car models, the tread is divided into several functional zones. The outer edges of the tread, where many wide shoulder blocks are arranged transversely, provide reliable handling on unpaved road surfaces. This is particularly noticeable on clay and sandy soils with reduced load-bearing capacity. On such surfaces, the shoulder blocks act as anchorages.
The central part of the tread, on the other hand, has a completely different function. The main tasks of these functions consist of providing stable handling, braking performance and acoustic comfort. The solution to these challenges is three comprehensive rows of tread blocks known as 'ribs'. The distance between the blocks in a row is minimal and they are of massive size, which increases the contact area and prevents deformation during movement. In addition, the arrangement of the blocks is offset relative to each other, which reduces the risk of resonance noise and increases acoustic comfort. Mainly inside the car.
Unique rubber alloy
A new tread rubber compound was developed specifically for this model. The main innovation is the advent of polymers. A complex of chemicals called Long Life, which interact with other components at molecular level to give the compound increased tensile and traction strength. The benefits of this compound can be seen in high speed driving, where the tread is flexible and does not deform under high centrifugal force, and in rough, rocky roads, where the tyre does not deform on contact with the road surface.
It should be noted that the tyre rubber still contains high levels of silica. The use of new polymers ensures the smoothness of the rubber compound. This allows the tyre to literally stick to the wet surface, fitting even the smallest bumps snugly.
A light but durable tyre
The tyre's high performance is largely due to the optimised skeleton and bead construction. These have been significantly reinforced with additional cords. Thanks to the use of synthetic materials and improved winding techniques, the cord enhancement did not lead to a significant increase in tyre weight. Instead, load capacity and impact resistance were considerably improved. The improvements in these structural elements were so significant that the Japanese manufacturer is offering extended warranty periods for this model in several countries.
*Please note: summer tyres manufactured in Asia may be marked M + S. It should be borne in mind that the Asian territory extends into different climatic zones where, in some places, meteorological winter never sets in. So, these tyres can be used there all year round, while in Latvia it doesn't work!
