X-Ice XI3 equipment
The Michelin X-Ice XI3 winter tyre model features a particularly aggressive directional tread pattern. This design was chosen to improve tyre performance in harsh winter conditions - deep snow and icy roads.
Several thousand sipes of Michelin technology are densely packed into the massive, V-shaped tread blocks. Acting like studs, they cut into packed snow and ice with sharp edges, creating a firm grip on slippery surfaces.
A highly developed drainage or water channel system is located between the rows of tread blocks. This quickly and efficiently removes water, snow and slush from the tyre's grip puncture, improving traction and reducing the risk of aquaplaning.
Michelin X-Ice XI3 tread is made from a premium rubber alloy. The chemical elements added not only absorb water and dampen sound, but also help to maintain flexibility at low temperatures. As you know, a flexible tyre grips the road much better and also wears more evenly.
