Bridgestone Blizzak Ice special rubber compound
Bridgestone's special MultiCell technology is the key to this model's success . A special porous compound is added to the rubber compound which, in tandem with drainage channels and sipes, dries the contact patch of the tyre. A thin layer of water on the ice makes driving on icy roads dangerous. Multicell technology literally absorbs the moisture trapped between the tyre and the road surface, keeping it dry and allowing the tyre's tread elements to work even on the slipperiest road surfaces. This has enabled this model to deliver 10% shorter braking distances compared to its predecessor . Improvements to the rubber compound have also made the tyre more durable, lasting 22% longer than the previous model.
The Bridgestone Blizzak Ice 's safety in winter weather and its compliance with countries with mandatory seasonal tyre changes is confirmed by a snowflake marking on a mountain background with three peaks (3PMSF).
