Nankang Ice Activa ICE-1 Scandinavian winter tyres feature a relatively aggressive and deep directional tread pattern. This design has been chosen for improved performance in snow as well as a lower risk of aquaplaning.

The massive, V-shaped tread blocks are densely packed with deep sipes or sipes. Working like studs, they cut into ice and packed snow with sharp edges, forming a tight grip on slippery surfaces.
