Westlake SW618
Description
The Westlake SW618 winter model is best suited for exploration in harsh winter conditions. It features reliable traction in snow and good grip on ice, as well as optimum fuel economy. All of the above, combined with its low cost, make the SW618 an excellent choice for the Baltic climate.
SW618 main features
- several thousand small traction corners, formed by numerous sipes, give you confidence in the car's performance even on packed snow or ice;
- The tread design ensures reliable grip when driving in deep snow;
- the double longitudinal rib in the centre of the tread improves stability, allowing the tyre to react quickly and precisely to steering wheel turns.
Thousands of grip channels in the SW618 tread
This type of open design tyre, with a pattern made up of large strategically placed blocks, has most of its traction edges cut into the sipes rather than with them. Together, they form several thousand sharp edges, which enable the Westlake SW618 to grip confidently on any slippery surface. The sipes are angled in the centre to prevent side-slip and perpendicular to the direction of movement in the shoulder areas, giving the tyre good longitudinal traction and grip.
Double longitudinal rib in the centre of the SW618 tread
In addition to the bevelled sipes, the centre of the tread is characterised by the presence of double longitudinal ribs divided into two by a drainage channel. Combined with an innovative design, this construction ensures tyre stability at different speeds as well as good handling at high speeds.
The Westlake SW618 's safety in winter weather and its compliance with countries with mandatory seasonal tyre changes is confirmed by the snowflake marking on a mountain background with three peaks (3PMSF).
