Cordiant Polar SL Scandinavian winter tyres feature an extra deep and aggressive directional tread. This tread was chosen to suit the driving conditions in Northern Europe and Russia, where winters are harsh and roads are often dusty or icy.

The massive V-shaped tread blocks are densely packed with wavy sipes. Like studs, they cut into compacted snow and ice with sharp edges, forming a firm grip on slippery surfaces. The sharp side knobs, on the other hand, ensure good manoeuvrability even on gravel roads that are dirty in winter.

The model features a highly developed drainage channel system. Three longitudinal drainage channels, in tandem with numerous horizontal channels, ensure that the grip point is quickly and efficiently cleared of water, snow and slush.

The tyre rubber is compounded using Smart-Mix technology. It is enhanced with a range of chemical elements that help the tyre remain flexible even at very low temperatures. It's worth noting that a flexible tyre grips the road much better and also wears more evenly, extending the life of the tyre.
