Key Features of the Continental WinterContact 205/60 R16 TS 870
+ Excellent grip and handling on dry and wet pavement, as well as on snow and even ice.
+ Very low risk of hydroplaning.
+ Fuel efficiency.
+ Excellent wear resistance.
+ Exceptional acoustic and ride comfort.
+ The latest Continental technologies!
205/60 R16 The Continental WinterContact TS 870 winter/all-season tire model features an improved directional tread pattern. The size of the tread blocks has been reduced and their number increased, resulting in a greater number of grip edges. This feature is found in most of the latest premium-class tire models. It significantly improves tire performance on snow, slush, and ice.
The distance between tread blocks has also been increased, improving the efficiency of the drainage system. This, combined with the unique shape of the drainage channel system’s base, minimizes the risk of hydroplaning.
The V-shaped tread blocks are “armed” with sipes featuring Triple Sipe technology. Specifically, the tire’s tread features three different types of sipes.
Classic wave-shaped grooves are used in the shoulder area to improve maneuverability. The central area of the tire features a greater number of sipes oriented in multiple directions. This significantly improves traction on snow and ice, as well as clears water and snow from the tire’s contact patch with the road. Meanwhile, the third type of sipes used are the so-called “activators.” They are located across the entire tread surface and are activated only upon contact with the road surface.
