Compared to the previous model, the Bridgestone Blizzak DM-V3 tread features four drainage channels that remove snow and water from the contact patch, keeping it dry. Active Foam Rubber 2 technology, incorporated into the tire’s tread compound, further promotes contact surface drying by literally absorbing moisture that has accumulated between the tire and the road. This drying effect significantly improves performance on ice, as wet ice poses the greatest danger. The Japanese tire manufacturing giant has managed to reduce the braking distance by a full 9% compared to the already high performance of the previous model, and durability has also increased—the DM-V3 tires will last up to 25% longer.
