W.drive V903 Features
The Yokohama W.drive V903 all-season/winter tire model features an aggressive directional tread pattern. This design combines a low risk of hydroplaning with excellent traction in winter conditions.
The massive, V-shaped tread blocks are equipped with thousands of tiny grooves, or sipes. In addition, this tire model utilizes 3D sipe technology. The sipes function similarly to studs. Their sharp edges dig into packed snow and ice. Meanwhile, 3D siping technology allows the sipes to interlock with one another, significantly reducing braking distance.
The tread is made from a rubber compound rich in elastomers. A high concentration of silica has been added to it, allowing the tires to retain their flexibility at low temperatures. As is well known, a flexible tire provides much better traction and wears more evenly.
