Diamondback DW701
Description
The Diamondback DW701 winter tyre model is designed for light trucks and commercial vehicles. It offers improved straight-line grip, increased load capacity and longer service life.
Key features of the Diamondback DW701
- increased number of sipes, resulting in a denser layout and improved ice grip, as well as reduced aquaplaning ricochet;
- V-shaped drainage channels for confident performance on snow-covered road surfaces;
- the tread section is wider than the previous model and the large shoulder blocks reduce wear, improve manoeuvring stability and increase the load capacity of the tyre;
Dense siping
The Diamondback DW701 has a distinctive tread pattern with an increased number of sipes. Narrow slots, spaced a few millimetres apart, provide excellent grip. It is the large number of fine sipes that ensures the tyre grips to icy surfaces, demonstrating convincing winter performance without studs!
On snowy surfaces, the V-shaped design of the drainage grooves helps ensure tread performance. The drainage grooves form numerous sharp angles that help trap and shed precipitation while improving performance, especially in snow.
Tread width
The tread is practically flat in the centre of theDiamondback DW701. At the same time, the shoulder areas have a significant curvature. This design has made it possible to increase the width of the tread section and thus the entire contact area. At the same time, it has improved a number of important performance characteristics of the tyre. The most obvious is the improvement in grip characteristics. In addition, the wear resistance has been significantly increased, making it smoother, which increases the tyre's service life.
Diamondback DW701 resists aquaplaning and skidding
The functionality of the drainage channels mentioned above is beyond doubt. These tread elements are characterised by their high capacity and number, which allow not only water, but also masses of snow and mud to be quickly drained from the contact area. The location of the drainage channels is a great help on wet asphalt, successfully draining away water.
