Tread characteristics

Compared to the previous model, the Bridgestone Blizzak DM-V3 tread features four drainage grooves that channel snow and water away from the contact patch, drying it out. Active Foam Rubber 2 technology, added to the tread rubber compound, further helps to dry the contact patch, literally absorbing moisture trapped between the tyre and the road. This drying significantly improves performance on ice, as wet ice is the biggest hazard. The Japanese tyre giant has managed to reduce braking distances by a full 9% from the previous model's already high performance, while also increasing tyre life - the DM-V3 will last up to 25% longer.
